The forecasts of the initiators of the 8th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition of Morocco, which was held from April 24 to 28, were quite judicious. They expected a large attendance and that was the case. Some 450,000 people, between professionals and the general public, visited the Exhibition during the first four days, indicated, on Saturday, Jaouad Chami, commissioner of the Exhibition. In light of this influx, the number of visitors could, according to him, largely exceed the forecasts which counted on 600,000 people. "These figures confirm the exhibitors in commercial activity. We saw that cooperatives and associations had already exhausted their stocks on Friday," added Mr. Chami, who said he expected the machinery pole to achieve a very significant turnover during this edition which is being held under the theme "agricultural trade" and whose guest of honour is Belgium, in addition to the participation of about fifty countries. The commissioner was also reassuring regarding the agro-supply pole. In turn, the second pole, which concerns fertilisers, fertilisers, and irrigation systems, also seems full of promise. "I am confirmed that many contacts have been made and that this pole is doing well, due to the good agricultural campaign that is looming," he declared. More than 205 foreign companies, cooperatives, and associations took part in this edition marked by a livestock pole with more than 2,000 best animals selected on an area of 10,000 m². The Exhibition covers an area of 10 hectares, divided into nine thematic poles, namely "Regions", "Institutions and sponsors", "International", "Products", "Agro-supplies", "Machinery", "Nature and environment", "Local products", and "Livestock". Furthermore, Mr. Chami stressed that the 9th edition "should have a very ambitious programme" focused on strengthening contacts with sub-Saharan African countries and those of the Gulf.
