Elements of the judicial police of Meknès recently dismantled a criminal gang specialised in robbery with violence and drug trafficking, a security source indicated.

The police elements arrested the members of the criminal gang for robbery with violence, assault on people, and dispossessing them of their property under duress, trafficking of drugs and psychotropics, and possession of bladed weapons.

The criminal gang, the same source adds, was active in several districts falling under the territorial competence of the 3rd and 10th districts of the city.

The dismantling of this gang of thugs comes following several complaints filed by victims who had suffered acts of robbery with violence, assaults, and had been dispossessed of their property, and thanks to the launch of investigations and control operations at all points frequented by the gang.

The defendants will appear before the competent public prosecutor's office for "Formation of a criminal gang specialised in robbery with violence, use and possession of a bladed weapon, drug and psychotropic trafficking, and concealment of objects obtained following an offence with recidivism".
