The Meknassi public has an appointment throughout the month of November with the screening of a series of documentary films as part of Documentary Month. These films deal with several themes, such as exile, identities between peoples and the relationship to the land. There are five films in total that will be screened on this occasion, in addition to a "carte blanche to students of the ESAV (Higher School of Visual Arts of Marrakech)" evening. And it is the film "My Land", by Nabil Ayouch, which opened the ball of this cinematographic event on November 2. Confronting two voices on the Middle East conflict, this film gives the floor to old Palestinian refugees who fled in 1948 without ever returning to their land, and who have lived in camps in Lebanon for more than 60 years. This voice is heard by young Israelis of 20 years old who are building their country, feeling viscerally attached to their land. Between these two memories, there is a reality. That of two peoples who are fighting for the same land. A dialogue at a distance emerges which puts this conflict into perspective from an angle that is above all human. Cinephiles will then have the opportunity to discover the films "Tinghir-Jerusalem, the echoes of the Mellah" by Kamal Hachkar, "For a New Seville" by Kathy Wazana, or even "Fragments of a Revolution". As for the "Carte blanche to ESAV students" evening which will take place on November 27, it will allow the public to discover the productions of a documentary workshop of the Higher School of Visual Arts of Marrakech, led by Dalila Ennadre. This workshop allowed 2nd year ESAV students to produce short documentary films on the theme of women and femininity.
