Security services in Meknes have seized approximately 900 litres of contraband table oil from Algeria at a grocery store in the popular Borj Omar district.
This seizure, which resulted in the arrest of one person, is part of the efforts deployed by the various services of the Meknes police prefecture to combat smuggling and protect consumers during the month of Ramadan, Omar Aouragh, head of the judicial police service in Meknes, told MAP.
The suspect has been placed in police custody for further investigation, he indicated, adding that he will be referred to the courts once the interrogation is complete.
