Humour The Disney+ platform unveils the official trailer for the francophone gala of the Marrakech Comedy Festival, whose exclusive broadcast is scheduled for October 16. Hosted by Malik Bentalha, this event highlights a new generation of comedians and aims to strengthen the bridges between the Moroccan and francophone scenes. Filmed last June at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, the first edition of the Marrakech Comedy Festival is set to conquer a wider audience thanks to Disney+. Conceived and presented by Malik Bentalha, this gala celebrates the diversity of comedic universes and contributes to the influence of the ochre city as an essential destination for francophone and arabophone humour. “Seeing the first edition of the Marrakech Comedy Festival arrive on Disney+ is a huge pride,” says Malik Bentalha, master of ceremonies and artistic director of the event. Evoking the energy of the audience and the intensity experienced on stage, the comedian is delighted to be able to share this experience with a wider audience, hailing a collective success that is set to leave a lasting memory. For this first edition, Malik Bentalha has brought together several emerging talents and rising stars of stand-up. Among the announced comedians are Meryem Benoua, Tom Baldetti, Paul de Saint Sernin, Youness Hanifi, Nordine Ganso, Léopold Le Marchand, Hugo Le Van, and Sarah Lélé, with several surprises to be added. Within the framework of the Palais des Congrès of Marrakech, the artists present unique universes, driven by varied styles and writings. Beyond the succession of humorous performances, the gala aims to highlight the renewal of the comedy scene and foster exchanges between Moroccan and francophone talents. The francophone and arabophone galas will also be broadcast soon on the 2M television channel, thus allowing the event to reach a wider audience in Morocco. Produced by Karim Debbouze and Malik Bentalha, and directed by Julien Faustino, the Marrakech Comedy Festival will be available exclusively on Disney+ from October 16. Malik Bentalha returns in 2027 The collaboration between Disney+ and Malik Bentalha will continue in 2027 with the exclusive broadcast of “Nouveau Monde,” the comedian's latest show. Filmed during the last performances at the Dôme de Paris-Palais des Sports, this one-man-show will extend a successful tour. Between observations of daily life, self-deprecation, and a look at societal changes, Malik Bentalha develops a personal and universal humour, confirming his place among the essential figures of francophone stand-up.
