Arab-African Forum on Business and Human Rights in Marrakech
The city of Marrakech will host the Arab-African Forum on Business and Human Rights on the 24th and 25th of this month, organised by the Interministerial Delegation for Human Rights (DIDH), under the theme "For a regional dialogue in favour of a responsible economy that respects human rights".

Organised in partnership with several ministerial departments, national institutions, and UN agencies, this forum is part of the periodic meetings held following the African Forum on Business and Human Rights, organised since 2022, and the Arab Dialogue held in October 2024 in Doha, the DIDH indicates in a press release.

This event aims to encourage dialogue and the exchange of experiences, and to strengthen respect for human rights within the framework of business activities and support for sustainable development in the Arab-African region, the same source specifies.

This Forum also aims to explore avenues for regional cooperation, share best practices, and discuss lessons learned from the implementation of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, in order to strengthen commitment to sustainable development dynamics in the Arab-African region, reports the MAP.

More than 200 participants are expected, including representatives from countries in the Arab and African region, UN, international and regional organisations, public and private companies, national human rights institutions, civil society organisations, as well as academic researchers and specialised experts.

The proceedings of this Forum will be enriched by interventions from high-level figures from countries in the region and senior officials from international and regional bodies, and will also include the organisation of thematic panels and an exhibition space for initiatives and programmes from participating institutions, the press release concludes.
