Marrakech – The third edition of GITEX Africa, the continent's largest technology and entrepreneurial gathering, opened on Monday in Marrakech, with some 45,000 participants and over 1,400 exhibitors representing more than 130 countries.
The opening ceremony of this major event, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, featured a pre-recorded video address by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, and was attended by government members, national and international investors, representatives of government institutions, speakers, and personalities from various backgrounds.
This year's edition of GITEX Africa stands out for its multitude of sectoral conferences, innovative initiatives in the creative industry, and high-value networking forums.
This annual event marks a new milestone in positioning the Kingdom of Morocco as an essential hub for digital innovation in Africa.
Supported by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, in partnership with the Digital Development Agency (ADD), this event aims to foster synergies between governments, investors, entrepreneurs, and digital leaders.
One of the highlights of this edition will be the "Africa Future Connectivity" summit, an exclusive platform bringing together giants of telecommunications, cloud computing, and data centres.
This summit will explore the impact of broadband, 5G deployment, and cloud technologies, while encouraging public-private partnerships to structure the continent's digital future.
The Diaspora Studio, a space dedicated to networking African talent on a global scale, is also planned, with the ambition of fostering investment opportunities, cross-border partnerships, and the transfer of expertise between the diaspora and local technological ecosystems.
GITEX Africa Morocco also highlights EdTech, AgriTech, HealthTech, and SportsTech. An approach that reinforces the ambition to make technology a lever for socio-economic transformation in Africa.
