The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the city of Marrakech recorded a decrease of 0.2% last February compared to the previous month, falling from 121.9 to 121.6.

This variation is attributed to the 0.6% decrease in food product prices and the 0.1% increase in non-food product prices, indicates a summary note from the Regional Directorate of the High Commission for Planning on the evolution of the CPI in the 'Ochre City' between last January and February.

It also emerges from this summary note that food class indices recorded a decrease, notably the prices of "fish and seafood" (-4.5%), "oils and fats" (-3.4%), "meat" (-1.9%), and "mineral waters, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices (ND)" (-0.6%), reports the MAP.

Conversely, the prices of "fruit" increased by 2.1%, "vegetables" by 1.9%, "coffee, tea, and cocoa" by 1.6%, as well as "milk, cheese, and eggs" by 0.3%.

Regarding the variations in the indices of non-food product divisions observed between January and February 2025, the decrease mainly concerned the prices of "recreation and culture" (-0.6%) and "clothing and footwear" (-0.1%).
For their part, the prices of "transport" and "restaurants and hotels" increased by 0.5%, and those of "furniture, household goods, and routine household maintenance" by 0.3%.

Compared to the same month of the previous year, the CPI for February 2025 in the city of Marrakech recorded an increase of 2.3%, rising from 118.9 to 121.6, a consequence of the 4.3% increase in the food product index and the 0.6% increase in the non-food product index.
