GITEX Africa Morocco: A third "historic" edition in Marrakech from April 14 to 16

Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this highly anticipated third edition of GITEX Africa Morocco promises an unprecedented event with new summits and large-scale initiatives, the organisers stated in a press release.

Led by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, in partnership with the Digital Development Agency (ADD), this event organised by Kaoun International stands out as Africa's largest technological and entrepreneurial gathering, the press release highlights.

Innovation, investments, and digital transformation: GITEX Africa Morocco stimulates investments, accelerates technological advancements, and contributes to the continent's digital and economic growth, the organisers affirm.

Building on the success of the previous two editions, GITEX Africa Morocco 2025 aims to reach new heights. This edition will be distinguished by strengthened sector-specific conferences, innovative initiatives in the creative industry, and high-value networking forums.

The objective is to foster synergies between governments, investors, entrepreneurs, and digital leaders.

This year's focus will be on public digital infrastructure in Africa, the development of artificial intelligence ecosystems, and the latest technological advancements, thereby affirming the continent's role as a key player in the global digital landscape.

A summit dedicated to the connectivity of the future

One of the highlights of this edition will be the Africa Future Connectivity summit, an exclusive meeting bringing together major players in telecommunications, cloud computing, and data centres.

This summit will explore the impact of broadband, the deployment of 5G, and cloud technologies, while facilitating public-private partnerships to shape the continent's digital future.
 

Another major new feature is the Diaspora Studio, a space dedicated to networking African talent worldwide. Its ambition is to foster investment opportunities, cross-border partnerships, and knowledge transfer between the diaspora and local technological ecosystems.

As a true hub for exchange, this platform will offer a strategic space for venture capitalists, incubators, and research centres, thereby enhancing Africa's visibility on the international technology scene.
 

Morocco thus reaffirms its ambition to become a leading digital hub in Africa, in line with the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who underscores the importance for the continent to fully engage in the global digital revolution.

This edition will bring together representatives from governments, regulatory bodies, and technology industry leaders to discuss crucial topics such as artificial intelligence governance, digital regulations, and public policies that will shape the future of innovation in Africa.

In this regard, the Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, highlights the importance of this commitment.

"Following the success of the 2024 edition, Morocco is proud to host the third edition of GITEX Africa, which confirms our central role in the continent's digital transformation," stated Ms. Seghrouchni.

"Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and with the strong support of the Moroccan Government, we will this year highlight EdTech, AgriTech, HealthTech, and SportsTech," announced the official, affirming that GITEX Africa 2025 will be a prime meeting place for decision-makers, investors, and innovators to accelerate the continent's digital integration and foster high-impact partnerships.

Beyond governmental support, the private sector is also committed to the continent's digital development.

For this edition, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank's private sector arm, joins GITEX Africa as an Economic Development Partner.

This involvement demonstrates its commitment to fostering sustainable investments and accelerating digital transition in Africa.

The IFC will mark the event with an unprecedented participation, highlighting the interconnection between global investment, technological innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Another flagship initiative of this edition, SheWins Africa, a programme led by the IFC, will spotlight African women entrepreneurs and female-led startups. This initiative aims to encourage inclusive economic development by strengthening the autonomy of women entrepreneurs and facilitating their access to funding and international networks.
 

The GITEX Impact programme is expanding significantly this year. Its scope now includes energy transition technologies, mobility, edtech, and sports, in addition to previously covered sectors like AgriTech, climate technologies, and water.

This approach reinforces GITEX Africa Morocco's ambition: to make technology a driver of economic and social transformation on the continent.

According to the Director General of ADD, Mohammed Drissi Melyani, GITEX Africa Morocco is now the essential platform for the continent's digital transformation, fostering the exchange of experiences and best practices in technological innovation, and enhancing the global competitiveness of African public and private ecosystems.

"This third edition, perfectly timed to align with the global momentum in Digital Transition, addresses several major challenges related to the resilience of the digital economy this year by highlighting strategic sectors such as artificial intelligence, Industry 4.0, IoT, Cloud, Cyber Security, Fintech, Edutech, Agritech, Health Tech, Smart Cities, and E-Government, in perfect convergence with the Sustainable Development Goals," noted Mr. Melyani.

He added that "the goal of this global technology event is to explore the world of Digital and its multiple impacts for a better, more inclusive, and responsible future."
 

With over 1,400 exhibitors from more than 130 countries, GITEX Africa Morocco 2025 will bring together thousands of digital professionals, startups, and investors, creating unique opportunities for networking, fundraising, and knowledge sharing.
