In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicates that the suspect (28 years old) was arrested while driving in a spectacular manner on the public highway in Marrakech, endangering his own safety as well as that of road users.

He also refused to comply with police orders and provided a false identity during the identity check, it is specified.

The check operation in the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) revealed that he is the subject of an international search notice issued by the French judicial authorities, for his alleged involvement in crimes committed in France, including acts of vandalism in an organized gang on the property of others, as well as kidnapping, sequestration, and arbitrary detention of a hostage, death threats, and violence, notes the statement.

The suspect has been placed in police custody as part of the extradition procedure, adds the same source, noting that the French judicial authorities have been notified of his arrest, pending the sending of the extradition file.

This arrest is part of the operations to repress spectacular driving that threatens the safety of citizens, as it supports the efforts of the Moroccan security services to pursue persons wanted at the international level in cases of transnational crime.
