Police elements in the Marrakech security prefecture, based on precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, arrested a 43-year-old French citizen this Monday morning, 3 February, who is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the French judicial authorities, to execute a court ruling issued against him in a criminal case related to attempted intentional homicide.
This French citizen was arrested in a security operation carried out in the city of Marrakech, after the process of checking his details in the database of the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) revealed that he is wanted internationally under an Interpol Red Notice, which was circulated and published based on an international arrest warrant issued by the French judicial authorities.
According to preliminary investigation information, the arrested French citizen is wanted by the French judiciary to execute the penalties stipulated in a court ruling convicting him in a criminal case related to attempted intentional homicide.
The suspect has been kept in police custody pending extradition procedures, in parallel with notifying the French security authorities of this arrest in order to send the extradition file. The arrest of the French suspect comes in the context of international cooperation relations in security fields, as well as within the framework of the efforts made by the Moroccan security services to pursue persons wanted internationally in cases of transnational crime.
