A security source stated that it concerns a citizen holding French nationality, 25 years old, who is in an illegal situation in Morocco, and was arrested in the act of possessing a passport suspected of being forged.
The same source added that the process of checking the suspect in the database of the International Criminal Police Organization "Interpol" showed that he is wanted internationally under a red notice at the request of the National Central Bureau in Paris, to execute a prison sentence issued against him for his involvement in a case related to attempted murder.
He indicated that the person concerned has been placed in police custody as part of the judicial investigation being conducted under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor's Office, and international security cooperation mechanisms are currently being used to notify the competent French authorities of the arrest decision.
The arrest of the suspect, according to the source, comes in the context of the commitment of the Moroccan security services to activate international security cooperation channels, especially the pursuit and arrest of persons wanted internationally in cases of transnational crime.
