The General Directorate of National Security inaugurated, this Saturday, January 11, a new police training school in the city of Marrakech, named "Marrakech Security Guard Training School" on the occasion of commemorating the anniversary of the presentation of the Independence Manifesto.
The primary mission of this school is to strengthen the police training system and support the capacity of police structures responsible for training, by providing basic training programmes for a portion of the new cohorts of female and male trainees in the security guard corps, in addition to contributing to enriching and strengthening continuous training programmes.
The opening of the new school for training security guards in the city of Marrakech comes in the context of implementing the structural projects recently announced by the General Directorate of National Security within its annual programme, related to the rehabilitation and development of police facilities, including strengthening police training structures and supporting regional poles for security training schools.
The new school for training security guards in the city of Marrakech was built on a total area of approximately 7,826 square metres, with a capacity to house 500 trainees throughout their basic training for the security guard corps.
The architecture of this new training facility has been designed to provide all accommodation and catering facilities, classrooms, and outdoor training spaces, allowing for the training period to be spent in the best conditions in preparation for joining service and assignment centres.
In this regard, the Marrakech Security Guard Training School has a residential wing with 16 accommodation units, a fully equipped kitchen, two separate dining halls, and a range of health facilities, in addition to a pedagogical wing that includes a multi-purpose hall ("polyvalente") with a capacity of 100 people, 10 classrooms, and a computer and remote conferencing room.
The school is also equipped with a clinic providing first and second-level medical consultations, an administrative space including 19 offices, a meeting room, a prayer room, as well as a ceremonial square for raising the national flag, and multiple squares for various paramilitary and sports training exercises. The General Directorate of National Security aspires for the Marrakech Security Guard Training School to contribute to supporting and strengthening specialisation in the field of security training, bringing training centres closer to female and male trainees, as well as providing appropriate conditions for developing the training system for new personnel joining the ranks of national security, carrying the duty of protecting security and property and maintaining the security of the nation and its citizens.
