The Marrakech Prefecture of Police has mobilized various logistical resources and human resources across the entire territory of the Kingdom's premier tourist destination to create a climate of tranquility, ensure the safety and security of citizens and visitors to the city, protect their property, and guarantee smooth traffic flow on the roads during this exceptional period.
This vigilance, which reflects the strong mobilization, dedication, selflessness, and high degree of professionalism demonstrated by the National Security personnel across this part of the national territory in response to the call of duty, was embodied through a proactive approach based on a comprehensive and strict security plan, and the adoption of a set of rigorous measures at the city's main thoroughfares and tourist accommodation establishments to enhance the sense of security and secure the New Year's Eve celebrations.
The Marrakech Prefecture of Police, in accordance with the directives of the General Directorate, has also worked to place all security facilities in the city at the disposal of citizens and tourists, embodying the spirit of patriotism, security vigilance, and sound professional conduct characteristic of the National Security services.
Hassan Boukern, Regional Commissioner and Head of the Prefectural Service for General Intelligence, stated to the press that the Marrakech Prefecture of Police, aware of the importance of securing New Year's Eve celebrations in the Red City, which is considered a global tourist destination, has ensured the mobilization of all available human and logistical resources to guarantee that these celebrations take place in a safe atmosphere, in implementation of the General Directorate's instructions in this regard.
He emphasized the comprehensive mobilization of National Security personnel to curb any disturbances that might be observed on public streets by deploying all security elements belonging to the Marrakech Prefecture of Police across all city axes, covering its entrances and exits, tourist areas, public squares, and places of worship to ensure the public safety of citizens and foreign tourists visiting the city.
For his part, the Regional Security Commander and Acting Head of the High Command of the Urban Corps at the Marrakech Prefecture of Police, Abdelatif Kerdad, highlighted that the Marrakech Prefecture of Police has put in place a tight security plan for these celebrations, based on a significant security presence at all main axes, traffic management, and responding to calls to the 19 line for citizens.
In this context, he pointed to the mobilization of a group of security formations and fixed and mobile units that have been carefully placed at specific main axes, as well as foot patrols traversing the streets and main axes of the Red City, in addition to reinforcing roundabouts with traffic officers to manage traffic flow during this period and avoid traffic congestion, especially in light of the large influx of Moroccans and foreign tourists to the Kingdom's premier tourist destination to celebrate the New Year.
He also emphasized the important role played by the Command and Coordination Room in monitoring the celebrations and directing security services for all interventions so that they can be carried out in a short time and these celebrations pass in the best conditions.
The tour conducted by the Maghreb Arabe Presse agency team through the main axes and tourist areas in Marrakech allowed for direct observation of the significant mobilization and exemplary efforts made by the various National Security teams to secure these celebrations.
