The Mohammed VI University Hospital (CHU) of Marrakech and the Giannina Gaslini Paediatric Institute of Genoa (Italy) have signed a twinning and cooperation agreement in Marrakech in the field of haematology-oncology and bone marrow transplantation in children. This agreement between the two hospital establishments aims in particular at improving the skills of professionals at the Mohammed VI University Hospital in the fields of haematology-oncology and bone marrow transplantation in children, as well as medical and managerial research. It will be translated into advanced training internships and expert missions on the organisation and operation of clinical haematology-oncology and bone marrow transplantation services and the promotion of research projects related to this field. In a statement to the press, the director of the Mohammed VI University Hospital of Marrakech, Prof. Mhamed Harif, noted that the Giannina Gaslini Paediatric Institute of Genoa is one of the major Italian and European hospitals, renowned for its expertise in the world in a health field as important as that of bone marrow transplantation. The Mohammed VI University Hospital has invested in the field of bone marrow transplantation, he stressed, noting that this agreement will allow for taking advantage of Italian expertise in this field, in the hope of making this treatment technique accessible to Moroccans, particularly children who do not have the means to perform this type of transplant abroad. According to officials at the Mohammed VI University Hospital of Marrakech, this initiative, supported by the Rotary Club of Genoa, opens a field of development that will allow more Moroccan patients, and in particular children, to benefit from this modern approach to care. Subsequently, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Mohammed VI University Hospital and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Marrakech within the framework of the "Culture and Health Project", an innovative project, initiated first in this hospital establishment of the Ochre City, before being generalised to other hospital establishments in the Kingdom. By virtue of this agreement, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities will support and host several literary and artistic activities (poetry recitals, book readings, film screenings and stage presentations of plays) for the benefit of patients and staff of the Mohammed VI University Hospital of Marrakech. The Faculty of Arts and Humanities will also provide its support and contribute to the hosting of the Tele Health Channel (CTS) of the Mohammed VI University Hospital, an internal channel installed in the reception areas of the Ibn Nafiss Hospital, under the Mohammed VI University Hospital of Marrakech.
