A traditional oven collapsed in the Al-Andalus neighbourhood in the centre of Ksar El Kebir, this Sunday evening, in a sudden incident that caused panic among the neighbourhood's residents and passers-by.
Sources from the same location reported that the incident occurred without warning, causing debris to scatter at the site, noting that "the incident did not record any human casualties, as the collapse occurred at a time when the oven was empty of customers".
Testimonies from neighbouring residents, provided to the Hespress electronic newspaper, confirmed that "the oven was suffering from significant deterioration in its infrastructure due to the lack of periodic maintenance".
Immediately upon being notified, local and security authorities and civil protection elements arrived at the site, where they established a cordon around the area to ensure the safety of the residents, while opening an investigation to determine the direct causes that led to the incident.
