196 women made literate in 2011

Ensuring the education of out-of-school children and young girls, helping people with reduced mobility to overcome their disability and contributing to the promotion of the status of women, these are the main objectives of the action of the National Mutual Aid delegation. The provincial delegation of the National Mutual Aid of Khémisset has 11 institutions across the province. These establishments, whose mission is to ensure the protection, on the one hand, of orphaned children who are in school or destitute and, on the other hand, of the elderly, ensure the well-being of the residents by offering them accommodation, food, medicines and school supplies. They also have the role of ensuring educational, cultural and sports activities. The number of existing education and training centres is 12. They are distributed throughout the provincial territory. More than 600 apprentice girls currently benefit from the services of these centres in various fields of training: cutting and sewing, knitting, embroidery in all its forms, etc. Similarly, the National Mutual Aid delegation organises literacy classes for women. Thus, 196 women benefited from this operation for the year 2011. The delegation also manages the Ibn Al Baitar institution for physically disabled children. This centre was created in 1972 by the British league "Save Children Fund" under the supervision of the National Mutual Aid. Ibn Al Baitar currently takes care of 104 physically disabled children. The establishment sets itself the objective of the social integration of physically disabled children of school age while offering them accommodation, medical care, distraction and leisure. According to Abderrazak Boushaba, the provincial delegate of the National Mutual Aid has the mission of providing aid and assistance in all its forms for the benefit of destitute populations. And to add that it remains an important state tool for intervention in terms of the fight against poverty, social exclusion and marginalisation through a large network of social institutions, established throughout the province. The provincial delegation of the National Mutual Aid, which favours partnership, has already concluded 14 cooperation agreements with civil society associations in terms of training social centre cooperators and protecting children in difficulty and the disabled, as well as for the fight against illiteracy.
