Elements of the judicial police in the Kenitra security prefecture, based on precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, thwarted, during the early hours of this Thursday, March 27, an operation to smuggle one tonne and 924 kilograms of Chira.
A security source reported that this security operation was carried out on the road connecting the city of Kenitra and the "Sidi Allal Bahraoui" area, and resulted in the interception of a utility vehicle suspected of transporting a shipment of drugs, as the search operation carried out on board enabled the seizure of 50 packages with a total weight of one tonne and 924 kilograms of Chira, in addition to the seizure of several forged license plates.
In contrast, field security operations and search procedures are continuing to identify the driver of the vehicle who managed to escape, as well as to identify all those involved in this criminal activity with a view to arresting them and subjecting them to the judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor's office.
This operation falls within the context of the joint efforts made by the national security and territorial surveillance services to combat the smuggling of drugs and psychotropic substances.
