The National Railway Office (ONCF) announces the launch, this Saturday night, of work to renew the tracks and railway equipment of the Kenitra station, as part of the Tangier-Casablanca high-speed line (LGV) project, while maintaining all rail services to and from Kenitra.
"Despite the scale of this work, the ONCF maintains all rail services to and from Kenitra station, by moving the current platforms," indicates a press release from the Office.
To guide and assist travelers at the station, a diversion route will be set up to allow them to easily access the new boarding platforms, the same source adds.
This work will require, punctually, on the nights of Saturdays, April 02 and 16, 2016, train cancellations, and slight changes in schedules throughout the work period, specifies the ONCF, which invites its customers to inquire with its staff or through signage and sound announcements at the station, the website: www.oncf.ma / facebook oncfpageofficielle or the customer relations center.
The modernization work on the railway tracks of the Kenitra station consists of carrying out terminal installations to better operate the railway line and allow its connection to the future Kenitra station, the press release adds.
They also consist of building 2 new platforms at Kenitra station, widening and raising the existing platforms, and modernizing the track signaling systems.
