Tribute to the women and men of the Gharb capital

Tribute to the women and men of the Gharb capital

The large hall of the Wilaya hosted a major ceremony of distinction and excellence in favour of women and men who have contributed to the multidisciplinary influence of the Gharb capital. The tribute paid to personalities with confirmed talent, as well as to young talents, constitutes the main characteristic of this meeting that some would not hesitate to describe as historic. Iconic figures from the world of sport and song such as Badr Hari, a world kick-boxing star, and the talented Latifa Raafat considered this distinction as an event that takes on a very particular importance in their lives. On this occasion, Zineb El Adaoui, Wali of the Gharb-Chrarda Bni-Hssen region and Governor of the province of Kenitra, emphasised the importance of valuing intangible capital which puts the human element at the heart of development strategies. The human being is a fundamental actor in the implementation of integrated and sustainable development plans. She did not fail to underline that this first edition aims to highlight the human, natural, and economic potential that this part of the Kingdom abounds with, the richness of its ancestral and socio-cultural potential, as well as the considerable contribution of the women and men of this region in the process of local, provincial, and regional development. At the end of this ceremony, several people from the field of culture and art wished to express their joy for the attention that was granted to them. For Mokhtar Ait Omar, president of the Kenitra Cine-club, this ceremony is a first in the history of the city. According to him, it is a recognition of the efforts deployed by individuals and actors of civil society who have largely contributed to the enhancement of human capital. "This great celebration translates in an exemplary way the new concept of authority," he indicates in substance. The poetess Atika Benzidane, author of the lyrics of the song "Aezzi Ennas" which won the first National Prize for Moroccan Song for the year 2014, for her part, declared that the sky of Kenitra shone that night with thirty twinkling stars. It is with pride and immeasurable happiness, she says, that I received this distinction which is both an honour and a great responsibility that will motivate me to give more of the best of myself. "This ceremony of distinction and excellence, she concludes, will remain forever engraved in my heart and my mind." The painter Nourdine Fidali, for his part, estimated that this great meeting constitutes a new promising start for all the city's potential. This distinction takes on a particular meaning for me, since the initiative emanated from the Wali who has given a new dynamic to the economic, social, cultural, and sporting processes at the local, provincial, and regional levels. Behind the scenes: The selection committee for the distinguished candidates was chaired by Azzedine Midaoui, president of the Ibn Tofail University. It was composed of actors from the field of economy, culture, sport, human rights, and the media. The choice of candidates was not an easy mission given the large number of great talents that the city abounds with in all disciplines. The candidate selection committee targeted 13 categories in accordance with a global vision taking into account the achievement of a balance between all the fields concerned. This ceremony will be followed by other similar events at the level of the entire Gharb-Chrarda-Bni Hssen region.
