Kénitra, May 04, 2013 -(MAP)- The Kénitra Merchants Association organised, on Friday, a support ceremony for the residents of the city's Girls' Home to encourage them to persevere in their studies.
During this ceremony, which was attended in particular by the Minister of Equipment and Transport, Mr. Aziz Rabbah, the Minister in charge of General Affairs and Governance, Mr. Mohamed Najib Boulif, the President of the local Ulema Council, Mr. Mohcine Agoujim, and the city's Pasha, Mr. Abdessalam Arbouni, bags containing clothing and school supplies were given to 83 young girls from the Girls' Home pursuing their studies in the city's schools and high schools.
At the beginning of this event, Ms. Amina Alaoui, Vice-President of the Association, indicated that this ceremony is a contribution that symbolises the values of solidarity and support, in accordance with the values of Islam, calling for the multiplication of such gestures to help those in need, particularly in difficult times.
For his part, Mr. Abdelhaq Benkirane, from the Girls' Home Association, felt that this gesture constitutes an encouragement to the residents of his orphanage to persevere in their studies to be able to support themselves in the future and succeed in their life path. He highlighted the satisfactory results they have obtained despite "the modest means at their disposal," while saluting the support provided to his orphanage by civil society and wishing for more similar gestures, both material and moral.
Mr. Rabbah, for his part, praised the action of the Kénitra merchants which, he said, is at the heart of the values of Islam. It is also, he added, a gesture of citizenship whose impact will benefit the whole society through the support provided to young girls who will tomorrow be teachers, engineers, doctors...
For the President of the local Ulema Council, this noble gesture is a contribution to the consecration of religious and social values. Charitable action, he said, will take material and moral forms, and both participate in the culture of solidarity and mutual aid.
The Kénitra Merchants Association, established six months ago, has included among its objectives the organisation of and participation in social, educational, environmental, sporting, cultural, artistic, and charitable activities. (MAP)
