In a press release, relayed by the MAP, the presidency of this University, which has 21,357 students and 437 teachers, has set itself the objective of making international cooperation "an effective tool for knowledge transfer and the acquisition of new means of expertise". As an example, let us recall that since the annual conference of April 2012 in Marseille, the Ibn Tofaïl University has joined the Consortium of Euro-Mediterranean Universities called Téthys, a university founded on the principle of a consortium of universities within which each partner is a full member and provides the same active participation in pedagogical and scientific matters. This openness to the world of science, research, and teaching is materialised by the organisation of three international events that will address subjects as varied as climate change, the world of entrepreneurship, and certification. The Ibn Tofaïl University of Kénitra is organising, within the framework of the European project entitled "Building Climate Change Adaptation Capacity in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia", the launch meeting of the said project today, Monday 7 January, at the National School of Applied Sciences of the University of Kénitra. On the website of this institution, it is specified that the objective is "Supporting Southern countries in the fight against climate change through the implementation of new teaching programmes and the establishment of research structures dedicated to the study of the environment and sustainable development".
Climate change, a new teaching modelIt is also planned to develop and implement a Euro-Mediterranean Master's degree on climate change and risk management in accordance with the requirements of Bologna and to respond to the impact of climate change through the creation of national centres for adaptation to climate change and the creation of a regional network in this field.
The second event, scheduled for 15 January, also at the National School of Applied Sciences, concerns the Entrepreneurship and Research Valorisation Caravan on the theme "University-Enterprise: The winning bet". This caravan, organised within the framework of the European Tempus EVvarech project (Entrepreneurship and Research Valorisation), aims to promote entrepreneurial culture among graduate students and researchers, to stimulate the generation of innovative entrepreneurial ideas, and to promote the university-socio-economic world partnership.
Finally, the third event, announced for 7 February, also at the National School of Applied Sciences, is the ceremony for the presentation of Certificates of Competence in Higher Education Languages. This ceremony, placed under the theme "Certification as a gateway to employability", will focus on the perspectives opened by certification to facilitate the professional insertion of university graduates.
The Certificates of Competence in Higher Education Languages will be awarded to students from the three partner universities of the CLES project (Mohammed V-Souissi-Rabat, Hassan II of Mohammedia, and Ibn Tofaïl of Kénitra) who have successfully passed the tests coordinated by the University of Provence, Aix-Marseille I.
