Kalâa M'Gouna celebrates its roses

Kalâa M'Gouna celebrates its roses

The 52nd edition of this flagship event will be organised under the theme “The rural world, development constraints, and future bets” and aims, in particular, to promote the region's potential, open it up, and foster its emergence. Over the editions, the event has gained more notoriety and scale; which has allowed it to become a renowned festival, whereas it was once just a small “Moussem”.

This edition promises new features that will surely be the key to its success. And this, thanks to the strong involvement of all local and regional actors, notably Lahcen Aghjdam, Governor of the province. Like previous editions, it will enjoy extensive media coverage. It should be noted that this festival has earned an honorary ranking among other similar events in Africa. This is thanks to its philosophy, its trends, and the specific and general objectives it sets for itself, including the economic and social emergence of the region. It is also thanks to the maturity it continues to demonstrate. This festival is thus strengthened by the strategies adopted by the organising committee. It is organised according to a linear approach, perpetuating said participatory democracy. The commissions under this committee take on the mission of developing programmes that meet the expectations of the city's inhabitants and the public loyal to the event. A panoply of activities aimed at revealing the secrets of the rose will be organised on the sidelines of this festival. These include, of course, a series of round tables and conferences focused on the sector, its development, and its contribution to that of the region. Speakers will address topics related to the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and therapeutic benefits of the rose, the safeguarding of biodiversity, and more. Also, in addition to the carnival, fairs, and fun activities dedicated to children, sports competitions and artistic evenings will be organised on the sidelines of the festival.

And as tradition dictates, the closing ceremony of the event will constitute an occasion for consecration and for the presentation of the “Golden Rose” trophies, as well as for the election of the Rose Queen and the harvest governess.
