The 6th edition of the Ifrane International Tourtite Festival, placed under the theme of «Nature at the crossroads of cultures», will take place from 23 to 26 August next.
An initiative of the Tourtite Association, the festival also seeks this year to establish itself as a «crossroads of meetings between actors excelling in a multitude of cultural expressions, who meet to communicate their identity and enrich their differences».
The event, which is gaining momentum from year to year, offers four full days of shows, games and competitions, exhibitions, and theatrical entertainment, as well as a series of other activities related to the festival's theme.
Thus, this 6th edition will begin with a day at the «nature and solidarity development village», where a competition entitled «terroir products trophies» rewarding the best stand and the most dynamic association or cooperative will be launched.
Right next door, drawing and painting workshops for children from summer camps and holidaymakers and a competition on the theme «Nature, water, and global warming in the child's imagination» will be supervised by the province's artists' association and environmental protection associations.
Festival-goers will also be able to follow exhibitions of paintings and sculptures, «little ecologist» competitions, in collaboration with the association of life and earth sciences, a «Pocket film» competition on the theme of the environment, open-air theatrical entertainment, and competitions of traditional Middle Atlas mountain trades (trunk cutting, sheep shearing).
And as usual, sport will also be well present, with trout fishing and clay pigeon shooting activities and competitions on the program.
The festival evenings will bring a musical pinch to the daily life of the city of Ifrane. Artists of different musical sensibilities will be part of it, such as Hatim Ammour, Layla Barrak, Daoudia, Rachid Kassmi, Ostina Tono, and the Siham group. Amazigh song will be represented by Mostapha Oumghil, Tachinouit, Cheikh Mabrouk, and many others.
