The British company Predator Oil & Gas Holdings Plc has announced the start of drilling operations for the MOU-5 well on its Guercif onshore permit, in northeastern Morocco.
The work, which began on March 3, 2025, aims to explore potential gas reservoirs located between 800 and 1,200 metres deep.
This drilling specifically targets the “Titanosaurus” Jurassic structure, estimated to contain potential recoverable resources of 5.9 trillion cubic feet of gas.
The proximity of the site to the Maghreb-Europe gas pipeline, just 2.5 kilometres away, could facilitate rapid production in the event of a conclusive discovery.
Every week, a major guest deciphers the challenges of the Moroccan economy.
