Smara Province: more than 55 million DH for drinking water and sanitation projects

A budget of 55.9 million DH is dedicated to the completion of several projects aimed at strengthening distribution structures, improving storage capacity, and ensuring water production in the Smara province, as part of the National Office for Potable Water (ONEP) programme for the 2012-2015 period. According to data provided by ONEP, these projects include, among others, the construction of a semi-buried reservoir with a capacity of 3,000 m3 (10 million DH), another 500 m3 reservoir supplying the Rbieb housing estate (5 million DH), the reinforcement and restoration of the old Smara distribution network (15 million DH), as well as the wastewater treatment plant dedicated to boosting the efficiency of this network (5 million DH).At the provincial level, the network coverage rate is estimated at 92%, with an annual production of 1.8 million m3 and a storage capacity of around 2,700 m3.Reg…
