The Urban Commune of Kelâat Sraghna has decided to make the environment sector the focus of support for association activities for the current year. This initiative sets itself the objectives of involving associations in the environmental activity of the city and providing them with the necessary means to carry out their missions, as well as contributing to the development of their performance, strengthening their professionalism, and improving the quality of their activities. It is also part of Morocco's preparations for the upcoming world climate conference (COP 22), which will be held next November in Marrakech, and as part of the concretisation of the Commune's contribution to this great event, as well as on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the issuance of the Communal Charter.
According to a statement from the Commune, this action aims, in particular, to strengthen the capacities of associations in the field of the environment and environmental education, as well as in the valorisation of environmental potential.
Associations wishing to participate in this initiative are invited to collect, during the period from 8 to 23 August, the support offer applications from the social, cultural, and sports activities department of the commune, the statement notes. The association that will benefit from this support must be a legal association operating in the same commune and having already organised an activity of an environmental nature, the same source explains. The associations' projects will benefit from support of up to 50% of the cost of the proposed activities, not exceeding a ceiling of 10,000 DH.
