The city of El Jadida welcomes children from Al-Qods

It is the turn of the capital of the Doukkala region to receive the children from Al-Qods. The date is set for 18 June, the day of their arrival. They will participate in the 6th edition of summer camps organised by the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency. This event, which has become a true tradition, will run until 2 July. It bears the name of the late Mohammed V.

Thus, 50 children from the holy city, aged 11 to 14, have been selected to make the trip to Morocco. These guests will discover the beauty of the Kingdom's natural sites and its ancestral traditions. The officials will have the immense pleasure of accompanying the children for two weeks as they explore the riches of the city of El Jadida, Casablanca and even Azemmour. It is an opportunity for these girls and boys to rediscover their childhood innocence and to escape, for the duration of a trip, the climate of oppression and suffering they endure on a daily basis.

To this end, and like previous editions, a colourful programme has been concocted to satisfy their curiosity and provide them with maximum enjoyment. It includes educational, recreational and sporting activities, as well as educational hikes to discover historical sites and the tourist and economic potential of the region. The organisers have also planned a charity football match and an artistic evening as a sign of solidarity with the orphans of Al-Qods, which will be punctuated by a Palestinian folklore show presented by the children from Al-Qods. Furthermore, on the sidelines of these activities, the historic visit of the late Mohammed V to Al-Qods Acharif will be commemorated.

It should be recalled that previous sessions were organised in Saidia (Hassan II session 2012), Agadir (Al-Qods Orphan session 2011), Tangier (HRH Princess Lalla Khadija session 2010), Ifrane (HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan session 2009) and Larache (Al-Qods session 2008). These sessions were highly appreciated by the children, who were touched by the warm welcome and the interest shown to them by the Moroccans. The latter have always been sensitive to the cause of the Palestinians suffering from the ravages of colonisation.
