About Bni Bouayach
Bni Bouayach (in Arabic: بني بو عياش) is a town in Morocco. It is located in the Al Hoceïma province and the Taza-Al Hoceïma-Taounate region.
The town is located in the heart of the historic Rif and represents the third largest town in the Al Hoceïma province. The town fully participated in the protest events of the 20th century, notably during the post-decolonisation massacres sometimes referred to as the Rifian Intifada (December 1958-January 1959) and during the bread riots of the 1980s. Despite the poverty of the town and the region, the populations were forced to emigrate, and thus more than 65,217 Rifians originating from Bni Bouayach are now in Western Europe, mainly in France, the Netherlands, Spain and Belgium.
