Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RSB) snatched a precious victory away from home against Stade Malien (1-0), on Sunday evening in the 4th matchday of Group B of the CAF Confederation Cup, securing its qualification for the next round.
The only goal of this match, played at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako, was scored by striker Imad Riahi in the 64th minute of play, allowing the Berkanis to achieve their 4th consecutive victory in the group stage and validate their ticket for the quarter-finals.
In the same group, South Africa's Stellenbosch won earlier in the day against Angola's CD Lunda Sul by 2-0.
At the end of this day, RSB consolidates its place as leader with 12 points, ahead of the South African club Stellenbosch (6 pts). Stade Malien is third with 4 units, while Angola's Lunda Sul brings up the rear with only one point.
During the next matchday, scheduled for next Sunday, RS Berkane, finalist of the last edition of this competition, will travel to Luanda to face the Angolans of CD Lunda Sul.
