This forum, which was launched by the Governor of the Berkane province, Mohamed Ali Habouha, in the presence of local sports figures, also falls within the framework of promoting parallel activities for students in the province.
This forum, which was organised in cooperation with the Renaissance Berkane club, the Regional Directorate of National Education, Preschool and Sports, the Regional Directorate of the Youth sector, and the Sidi Slimane commune, saw the organisation of several sports competitions in football, basketball, boxing, karate, and taekwondo.
273 participants took part in these sports competitions (including 109 females, 13 league officials, 27 referees, and 38 sports coaches), belonging to teams and clubs representing these various sports.
The Head of the Social Action and Human Development Division at the Berkane province prefecture, Mohamed Mimouni, confirmed in a statement to the press on the occasion, the importance of this first sports forum, which aims to promote openness among children and young people by encouraging parallel and sports activities.
He explained that this activity targets students, whether through their participation in various sports competitions or by providing them with the opportunity to discover the sports infrastructure available in the province and to learn about the various sports organised with the aim of motivating them.
He also pointed to the support of the National Initiative for Human Development for sports and educational activities, including this sports event, within the framework of its fourth programme "Advancing the Human Capital of Future Generations", specifically the pillar of promoting openness and parallel activities for school-aged children and youth.
For his part, the Regional Director of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports in Berkane, Noureddine Rahou, confirmed that this sports forum falls within the framework of expanding the sports offer and the base of beneficiaries of sports activities in the province, as well as diversifying them, through the organisation of a group of different individual and collective sports activities, such as wrestling, boxing, karate, and others.
He highlighted that these diverse sports activities, which target students, will contribute significantly to increasing the number of beneficiaries of parallel activities that receive great attention in the Berkane province.
He added that these activities also come within the framework of preparing sports teams representing educational institutions for various national sports events, and enabling them to benefit from high-level training supervised by distinguished and competent staff.
This forum was marked by the crowning of the participating teams and clubs that topped the first places in the various sports competitions.
