CAF organizes a workshop on football academies, with the participation of RS Berkane

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) organized, last Wednesday in Cairo, a meeting dedicated to football academies, including Renaissance Berkane, and bringing together experts in the development of the sector across Africa.

Several football academies and clubs in Africa took part in this meeting, among which are Al Ahly (Egypt), Rahimo Football Club (Burkina Faso), the Génération Foot Academy (Senegal), as well as Medina United (Gambia), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Right to Dream (Ghana), the Zed FC Academy (Egypt), Kaizer Chiefs (South Africa), the Diambars Institute (Senegal), and the Brasseries du Cameroun Football School, indicates CAF on its electronic portal.

This one-day reflection workshop, the results of which will be presented to the CAF president and his executive committee, brought together essential representatives of football academies from all over Africa. The exchanges aimed to refine strategies for developing young talents, a "key element of the continent's football ecosystem," the same source continues, adding that CAF plans to work in collaboration with member associations to explore the possibility of organizing national academy tournaments, classified by age categories, in order to promote competitiveness and talent development.

By bringing together academy directors, coaches, and football development experts, the conference aimed to promote the sharing of best practices in youth training, identify the challenges encountered by current academic systems, develop collaborative strategies to improve the training of young players, and harmonize continental approaches to youth football development, the statement concludes.
