It continues until October 18 in Assilah: "A World in Constant Motion", new exhibition by artist Youness El Kharraz
Work This exhibition consists of a selection of works that I have created over the last four years. I have not changed my way of painting. I still work on the same subject of faces and human figures After having exhibited in several of the most famous art spaces and galleries in Morocco and abroad, Youness El Kharraz returns to his hometown for a new exhibition of his works, the opening of which took place on Saturday, October 3, at the Hassan II Centre for International Meetings in Assilah. Entitled "A World in Constant Motion", this event is part of the autumn session of the forty-seventh Cultural Moussem which continues until October 18. "This exhibition consists of a selection of works that I have created over the last four years. I have not changed my way of painting. I still work on the same subject of faces and human figures," said Youness El Kharraz. The Zailachi artist has chosen in his own way and through his untitled works to create interaction with the public. This allows the public "to interact with the work and participate in giving it a title," said Youness El Kharraz. This exhibition highlights the long path travelled by the artist as one of the children benefiting from the first talent workshops held as part of the Assilah Moussem. Youness El Kharraz must feel a real pride that his first drawings and paintings are still kept by the Assilah Forum Foundation. Moreover, some of these works had been exhibited among a selection of works by the children benefiting from these workshops at the Palace of Culture. The artist has been able to keep his ties with the Moussem. He had been appointed by the Assilah Forum Foundation as head of art galleries during the 2000-2013 period. His professional and artistic career is distinguished by individual and collective exhibitions organised as part of this annual event, particularly in the early 2000s. After learning the first elements of art and rubbing shoulders with great artists (such as Mohamed Melehi, Farid Belkahia, or Saâd Lhassani) during the first editions of the Moussem, Youness El Kharraz developed his passion by joining the School of Fine Arts of Tetouan, then that of plastic arts of Angoulême in France. In addition to several exhibitions in Morocco and abroad, some of his works have been presented in various institutional and private spaces, such as the two departments of culture and finance (Rabat), Bank Al-Maghrib, the Agency for the Development of the Northern Provinces (Rabat), the Assilah Forum Foundation, Paris Airports, Crédit Agricole (Rabat), and SGMB (Casablanca).
