About Assilah
Asilah (Arabic: أصيلة) is a fortified town on the northwest tip of the Atlantic coast of Morocco, about 31 km from Tangier. Its ramparts and gateworks remain fully intact.

Today, it is a seaside resort frequented by Moroccans and Europeans. In August, it hosts a cultural festival including, every two years, the presentation of the Tchicaya U Tam'si Prize for African poetry.
