Where does the 7.46% jump in the municipal budget come from?

Increased to 850 million dirhams (+7.46%), Agadir's 2027 budget draws the bulk of its 59 million dirham increase from its own local taxation (82.6%). The latter is driven by the tax on municipal services, the professional tax, and the tourist tax. This arrangement makes it possible to generate a projected surplus of 278.3 million dirhams, which will be used to repay 170 million dirhams of the debt principal, while 108.3 million dirhams will finance 10 equipment projects.
Meeting last Wednesday for the ordinary October session, the Agadir Municipal Council validated its draft budget for the 2027 fiscal year. Operating budget forecasts will stand at 850 million dirhams, compared to 791 million dirhams for the 2026 fiscal year (+7.46%).
