Having survived the earthquake of February 29, 1960, in Agadir, the Salam Cinema, which has become a landmark of local collective memory over the decades, will finally be rehabilitated. The local development company "Grand Agadir for mobility and urban travel" (GAMDU) plans to award, this week, the first lot of work concerning urban development, landscaping, and the restoration of the exterior facade of this iconic building with its "saddle" silhouette.
With an estimated cost of 5.81 million dirhams, the project benefited from a generous donation from businessman Abdelaziz Aboulmajd to the urban commune of Agadir. The project will restore all the splendour of this place…
