An ornithological exhibition of great humanistic value at Crocoparc Agadir

Art, science and ecological awareness

By Saoudi El Amalki

The prestigious Crocoparc in Agadir recently hosted an exhibition that was artistic, scientific, and educational, titled "The Wings of Morocco". Organised by two ornithology enthusiasts—Halima Bousadik, president of the Moroccan Association of Wildlife Photographers, and Abdeljabbar Kninba, a professor-researcher at Mohammed V University in Rabat—this event was inaugurated in the presence of the Wali of the Souss-Massa region, in an atmosphere filled with fascination and emotion.

From the very first moments, the audience was captivated by the beauty of the exhibited photographs and the insightful explanations provided by the two experts, who accompanied visitors throughout the presentation. Set in an enchanting ecological setting, this exhibition integrates perfectly with the park's rich and diverse environment, a true sanctuary of biodiversity.

Nearly 140 species of birds, immortalised in their natural habitat through patient and rigorous work, offer a striking visual spectacle. These photographs, the fruits of meticulous exploration and unwavering passion, awaken the senses while enriching the minds of visitors, who admire the harmonious union between art and nature.

But "The Wings of Morocco" is not limited to birds: it is part of a broader dynamic of discovering the animal world. Crocodiles, alligators, caimans, anacondas, pythons, cobras, marmosets, and many other species share this unusual territory, attracting both young and old into a universe where curiosity blends with wonder.

Beyond its aesthetic dimension, this initiative carries significant ecological and educational weight. It provides a wonderful opportunity for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers alike to discover, understand, and above all, learn to respect Morocco's natural heritage. Accessible to the public until 15 September, the exhibition also serves as a vibrant call for environmental preservation, through the anchoring of a genuine ecological culture.

This is not just an exhibition: it is a message, an invitation to rethink our relationship with nature through emotion, knowledge, and the awakening of consciousness. An act carrying humanity, which could well positively influence human behaviour in the face of the environmental challenges of our time.
