Tourism: Gala dinner in Berlin to celebrate the destination Agadir and its region

Berlin – The tourist destination of Agadir and its region was celebrated, Wednesday evening in Berlin, before a prestigious audience of international guests and leading partners from the world of tourism, during a colourful gala dinner organized by the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Agadir Souss-Massa.

During this reception, held on the sidelines of Morocco's participation in the International Tourism Trade Fair (ITB) in Berlin, several players in the global tourism industry, including tour operators, representatives of major international hotel brands, and airlines, learned about the richness of the national tourism ecosystem, particularly that of Agadir, and the opportunities it offers.

This meeting, marked by the presence of the Ambassador of Morocco to Germany, Ms. Zohour Alaoui, the Director General of the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), Achraf Fayda, and the presidents of professional tourism federations, was an opportunity for Moroccan sector players to strengthen their ties with their partners and expand their network.

Speaking on this occasion, the president of the CRT Agadir Souss-Massa, Salah-Eddine Benhammane, highlighted the symbolism of this reception, which aims to celebrate the strong ties that unite Moroccan tourism professionals with international operators, to honour existing collaborations and, above all, to express gratitude to the various stakeholders who contribute to the development of Moroccan tourism.

This gala dinner is also an opportunity to “strengthen our synergies, exchange on our common ambitions, and draw together the next steps of our collaboration, so that Agadir Souss-Massa becomes a destination of choice throughout the year”, he said.

The Agadir region, honoured at the Morocco Pavilion of ITB Berlin 2025, stands out as a booming destination, endowed with natural assets, an exceptional climate all year round, breathtaking beaches, and a hinterland rich in traditions and discoveries, he stressed.

“It is a land of renewal and diversity, which offers travellers a unique experience, whether they are in search of relaxation, adventure, or cultural immersion”, he noted, affirming to international partners his firm conviction that the opportunities to come are immense and that there is still much to build together.

This gala dinner was punctuated by the screening of promotional videos presenting Agadir, the Capital of Souss, and its region in its various facets, with the richness of its landscapes, between sea, mountains, desert, and valleys.

A moment of conviviality and sharing, this evening highlighted the legendary hospitality of Morocco to international guests, among whom were German and international tourism professionals, as well as several diplomatic personalities accredited to Berlin and political officials.

Thus, the guests had the opportunity to enjoy a dinner with authentic flavours of the Souss Massa region and to enjoy the atmosphere of a Moroccan caftan fashion show, warm moments very appreciated by the audience.

The evening was also punctuated by songs and dances drawn from the rich musical and cultural repertoire of Morocco, a show that allowed guests to enjoy a few hours of immersion in the warm and festive atmosphere, typical of the Kingdom's hospitality.

This major event, which helped promote the unique tourist assets of the Kingdom, took place in the presence of the Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT), Imad Barrakad, the President of the National Tourism Confederation (CNT) and the CRT Marrakech-Safi, Hamid Bentahar, the President of the National Federation of the Hotel Industry (FNIH), Lahcen Zelmat, as well as the President of the National Federation of Regional Associations of Travel Agencies of Morocco (FNAVM), Mohamed Semlani.

ITB Berlin 2025 is being held from March 4 to 6 in the German capital, with the participation of more than 170 countries, including Morocco, represented by a 730 m2 pavilion bringing together professionals from the Moroccan tourism industry to promote the destination Morocco, now the leading tourist destination in Africa.
