Amazigh New Year 2975: Mr. Akhannouch visits the Agadir Ida-Outanane Handicraft Fair

The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, visited the Agadir Ida-Outanane Handicraft Fair on Monday, organized from the 11th to the 17th of the current month, as part of the celebration of the Amazigh New Year 2975.

On this occasion, Mr. Akhannouch, who was accompanied notably by the Secretary of State in charge of Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Lahcen Essaadi, the Wali of the Souss-Massa region, Governor of the Agadir Ida-Outanane prefecture, Said Amzazi, the President of the Souss-Massa Regional Council, Karim Achengli, and the President of the Souss-Massa Regional Chamber of Handicrafts, Abdelhak Arkhaoui, toured the various stands of this Fair, which aims to promote local products and highlight the ancestral know-how of local artisans.

Falling within the framework of the implementation of the partnership agreement between the Wilaya of the Souss-Massa region, the Souss-Massa Regional Chamber of Handicrafts, and the Regional Directorate of Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, this event highlights the diversity of artisanal products, as well as other specialties reflecting the dexterity and know-how of master artisans.

This event is also intended as a showcase for the promotion of local products from artisans and cooperatives and an opportunity to support the local economic dynamic.

This event hosts stands showcasing various handicraft products, as well as local products exhibited as part of efforts to support the social and solidarity economy sector.

This Fair also tends to value the role of human capital at the local level and to give local products their authentic traditional character, by expanding their marketing base, and thereby giving an accelerator to the local economy.

In a statement to the press on the sidelines of this visit, Mr. Essaadi indicated that the Agadir Ida-Outanane Handicraft Fair, which coincides with the celebration of the Amazigh New Year 2975, is part of a series of events organized at the level of the Souss-Massa region for the valorization and promotion of the handicraft sector, in addition to highlighting the creativity of master artisans.

Furthermore, Mr. Akhannouch attended the "Tanggift" show, which stages the traditions of the authentic Amazigh wedding, accompanied by artistic troupes representing the cultural diversity of the Souss-Massa region.
