The Regional Council of Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma will hold an extraordinary session on Thursday in Al Hoceïma, devoted to the study of several organisational, educational, environmental and economic points. On the agenda for this meeting are the examination and approval of the Council of the region's statute, a draft partnership agreement between the Council, the Ministry of Higher Education and the Abdelmalek Essaâdi University in the field of higher education and scientific research, indicates a statement from the Council on Tuesday.

The programme also includes the study and approval of a draft partnership agreement with the Union for the Mediterranean to participate in the organisation of the Conference of Mediterranean Countries (Med COP), a draft annex to a partnership agreement with the company Royal Air Maroc aimed at supporting certain domestic routes for the 2016-2017 year, and a draft framework agreement for a partnership between the Regional Council and the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation. The Council will also look into the study and approval of a draft decentralised cooperation agreement with the Maule region in the Republic of Chile, a draft partnership agreement with the Abdelmalek Essaâdi University and the Moroccan Centre for Studies and Research in Local Governance to encourage scientific research through the granting of scholarships to students and doctoral candidates for the 2015-2016 academic year, and a draft partnership agreement with the Moroccan Federation of Associations for the Support of Kidney Patients in the region.

This session will also be an opportunity to examine and approve a draft partnership agreement with the Ministry of Health to contribute to the improvement of services provided in the Oncology Centres in Al Hoceïma, as well as a draft framework cooperation agreement with the Scientific Institute under the Mohammed V University of Rabat. The agenda also includes the examination of a draft partnership agreement with the National Agency for the Fight against Illiteracy to develop a regional literacy and post-literacy programme and mobilise land to carry out development projects at the regional level. The members of the Council will proceed, on this occasion, to the examination and approval of subsidies within the framework of the second part of the budget, and the programming of cancelled subsidies and the remainder of the surplus.
