Signing of a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of the Agadir dry port covering an area of 100 hectares

The signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding for the construction of the Agadir dry port (Agadir Atlantic Hub), covering an area of 100 hectares, within the export free zone in the Drarga commune, took place yesterday, Monday, in Agadir, and is considered the largest logistics project in the Souss-Massa region.

The project to establish the Agadir Atlantic dry port falls within the framework of a series of projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure in the Souss-Massa region, which consists of storage and packaging areas, an area for empty and full containers, and an area dedicated to administrative and customs services.

In a statement to the press, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdelsamad Kayouh, confirmed that the project to establish the Agadir Atlantic dry port would contribute to strengthening economic takeoff and pushing social development in this region, in implementation of the High Royal Instructions.

On the other hand, the new Drarga 3 industrial zone was inaugurated on an area of 27.11 hectares, and a project for a new glove production factory for the company "Meditech Gloves" was presented, with a total cost estimated at 461 million dirhams.

It is noted that this agreement was signed by the President of the Souss-Massa Regional Council, Karim Achengli, the Director General of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG), Khalid Safir, the Director General of the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Logistics Activities (AMDL), Ghassane El Machrafi, the new Director General of the National Ports Agency (ANP), Mustapha Fares, and the President of the Supervisory Board of the Tanger Med Special Agency (TMSA), Fouad Brini.
