This agreement was signed by the President of the Souss-Massa Regional Council, Karim Achengli, the Director General of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG), Khalid Safir, the Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Logistics Development, Ghassane El Machrafi, the new Director General of the National Ports Agency, Mustapha Fares, and the President of the Supervisory Board of the Tangier-Med Special Agency, Fouad Brini.
This port extends over an area of 100 hectares, within the export free zone in the Drarga commune, and is considered the largest logistics project in the Souss-Massa region.
It consists of storage and packaging areas, a space for empty and full containers, and an area dedicated to administrative and customs services.
In a statement to the Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP) agency, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdelsamad Qaiouh, confirmed that the project to create the Agadir Atlantic dry port is part of a series of projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure in the Souss-Massa region.
He added that this infrastructure would contribute to strengthening economic take-off and pushing social development in this region, in execution of the High Royal Instructions.
On the other hand, the new Drarga 3 industrial zone was inaugurated, covering an area of 27.11 hectares, and a project for a new glove production factory for the company "Meditech Gloves" was presented, with a total cost estimated at 461 million dirhams.
