The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tehraoui, oversaw on Friday, January 17, 2025, the launch of services for the “Al Wahda” urban health centre in Rabat, in addition to the services of 6 health centres in the prefectures and provinces of Rabat, Skhirat-Témara, Sidi Kacem, and Sidi Slimane..
According to a statement by the Ministry, “this concerns the two level-one urban health centres “Al Wahda” and “Al Inbiâat” in Rabat, and the two level-one urban health centres “An-Nasr” and “Ouled Zair” in the Skhirat-Témara prefecture, in addition to the level-two rural health centre “Dar Gueddari” in the Sidi Kacem province, as well as the two rural dispensaries “Charaouta” and “Touirsa” in the Sidi Slimane province.”
The launch of these centres' services, the statement adds, ”comes within the framework of the visionary outlook of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, which aims to promote the national health sector to keep pace with the increasing demand for health services across the Kingdom, in implementation of the proximity policy adopted by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. The entry into service of these health centres also falls within the framework of continuing the implementation of the government policy to rehabilitate and equip 1,400 health centres at the national level”.
The source confirmed that “thanks to these health centres, more than 117,000 inhabitants of the region will be able to access basic health services, including general medical consultations, monitoring of maternal and child health, monitoring of chronic diseases, in addition to providing nursing services and health awareness, school health, and youth health programmes”. It is worth noting that the Ministry of Health and Social Protection has worked to mobilize qualified human resources who will ensure the provision of medical and therapeutic services at these institutions for the benefit of the targeted population. These centres have also been updated and equipped with the latest high-quality biomedical equipment and devices, in addition to connecting these facilities to an integrated information system that will contribute to improving patient guidance and providing care close to citizens in appropriate conditions, as this system provides patients with the possibility of accessing an electronic medical file that allows them to receive treatment at the regional level and also at the national level.
