Mohamed Bouarourou, President of the Oriental Regional Council, participated alongside Alaeddine Barkaoui, Vice-President of the region in charge of investment, and Rachid Rami, Acting Director General of the Regional Investment Centre, in a meeting organized by the Moroccan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Belgium-European Union (CMCIBE) in the Belgian capital, Brussels, under the theme "Morocco, an Euro-African economic hub".

The meeting was attended by a number of prominent figures, including the representative of the Directorate of Communication and Mobilization of Skills of Moroccans of the World at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, the Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Consul General in Brussels, and the representative of the Exchange Office, in addition to a group of economic actors and investors from Moroccans of the world.

In his speech, Mohamed Bouarourou emphasized that this event represents an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with the Moroccan community living abroad, praising the development dynamic that Morocco is witnessing under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him. He called for engagement in the Royal vision aimed at strengthening national development, pointing to the importance of the role of Moroccans of the world in this dynamic. The President of the region explained that the Oriental Regional Council, in partnership with the Wilaya of the region and the Regional Investment Centre, has launched a set of initiatives to support investment, including providing incentive mechanisms to support small and medium-sized enterprises and create job opportunities. He also highlighted the region's efforts to make it a hub for attracting national and international investments.

In turn, Rachid Rami reviewed the investment opportunities offered by the Oriental region, pointing to its geographical advantages, natural diversity, cultural heritage, and qualified human capital. He emphasized that the operation of the Nador West Med port represents a turning point in strengthening the region's position as a vital economic hub at the national and international level.

The meeting witnessed positive interaction from the Moroccan community living in Belgium, as the attendees expressed their readiness to engage in investment projects that enhance economic development in the Oriental region, according to a win-win logic. The region's delegation also held bilateral meetings with Moroccan investors who presented promising investment projects.

The visit of the Oriental Regional Council delegation to Brussels concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the President of the Regional Council and the President of the Moroccan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Belgium-European Union. This agreement aims to activate cooperation and partnership to facilitate investments by Moroccans of the world and enhance communication between economic actors. This initiative embodies a strategic orientation to strengthen Morocco's ties with its skills abroad, and translate economic development efforts into a tangible reality that serves common interests.
