The kick-off for the 8th edition of the 'Oriental, Heritage and Fashion' exhibition was given on Thursday in Nador, under the theme "The Oriental and Andalusia: together towards the future".
Organised by the Association of Young Mediterraneans, this two-day exhibition aims to highlight and market local products from the Oriental region, as well as to present its tourism potential and raise awareness of the dynamism of development and investment in the Kingdom.
This event, which sees the participation of 33 exhibitors from Morocco and Spain representing cooperatives and emerging companies, particularly from the Oriental region, also aims to strengthen economic and commercial cooperation with Spain, and to exchange experiences and knowledge between the two shores.
The president of the organising association, Yousra Boudih, stressed in a statement to the press that this edition is in line with the success of previous editions of the exhibition, which had a great impact thanks to the diversity of participants and their products, and the high turnout of visitors.
It also concerns, she added, the training programme dedicated to participants in various fields, and the social and economic impact that has been reflected on the cooperatives, artisans, self-entrepreneurs, and artists who took part in previous editions.
She noted that this edition is marked by the presence of the city of Malaga as guest of honour, as part of strengthening cooperation between the Oriental region and Andalusia, through the exchange of experiences and highlighting the richness of "our common heritage".
For his part, the president of the Chamber of Crafts of the Oriental, Mohamed Kaddouri, indicated that this exhibition is of particular importance, as it constitutes a platform to show and celebrate the know-how of the artisans of the Nador province, stressing that this vital sector reflects the national identity and Moroccan culture.
He added that this sector will experience a qualitative leap, thanks to the National Chamber of Crafts, especially since Morocco has reached record figures in exports in this sector, which reinforces its role as an ambassador of Moroccan culture in the world.
For their part, the participants in the exhibition felt that this initiative offers them the opportunity to meet the public, market their creativity and craft products, as well as attract new clients, noting that this exhibition is an opportunity for young entrepreneurs and startups to exchange ideas and experiences.
The programme for this event, organised on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Independence Day, includes an exhibition of local products (clothing, crafts, jewellery, cosmetics, pastries...), culinary demonstrations, traditional and modern clothing shows, and musical performances blending Moroccan and Andalusian heritage, as well as workshops and seminars focused on cultural and economic cooperation between participants.
