A light seismic tremor with a magnitude of 2.8 on the Richter scale was recorded this Sunday, January 5, at 13:04 local time, in an area located 42 kilometres west of Setti Fatma, in the Marrakech-Safi region.
According to data visible on global online earthquake monitoring services, the tremor was recorded at a depth of 12 kilometres, which limited its impact on areas near its epicentre, notably Oukaïmeden and Ourika.

No material or human damage has been reported according to initial reports.

This tremor is part of the natural seismic activity of the region, where small, low-impact earthquakes are a recurring phenomenon in these mountainous areas.
