Hespress has learned that Fatima Zahra Mansouri, National Coordinator of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), is expected to hold a meeting today, Friday, with the presidents of communal councils in the Marrakech-Safi region who belong to her party.
Hespress sources reported that invitations were sent to the presidents of territorial communes to attend a meeting chaired by Mansouri at her home to discuss the problems of the communes, especially those belonging to the Al Haouz and Chichaoua provinces, which were affected by the repercussions of the earthquake.
It is expected that during this meeting, "harsh" criticism will be directed by some presidents at their party's ministers and the government as a whole, due to the lack of positive interaction and the failure to respond to their files and the studies that were placed on their desks.
The same sources indicated that some presidents, especially those belonging to the Al Haouz and Chichaoua provinces, are expected to rise up against the leadership and parliamentarians because of the problems they are struggling with, which put them in direct confrontation with the population affected by the earthquake, at a time when advocacy is not being carried out in the required manner that would allow for responding to the demands of citizens in these affected areas.
Some communal presidents in the provinces of Chichaoua, Safi, Rehamna, and El Kelaa des Sraghna intend to inform the leadership of their dissatisfaction with some provincial council presidents, as well as the president of the Marrakech-Safi Regional Council and some ministers, including those affiliated with the National Rally of Independents (RNI) party, for their failure to interact with their files related to the problems and aspirations of the population, especially in rural areas where there are constraints regarding roads, drilling and equipping wells, and providing school transport and ambulances.
Hespress sources did not rule out that some presidents from the provinces of Chichaoua, Marrakech, and Rehamna might raise before Mansouri the reasons for the exclusion of a group of prominent leaders from attending this meeting, led by the prominent parliamentarian in Chichaoua, Hicham El Mhajri, and the president of the Ras El Ain commune in Rehamna, the former regional coordinator of the party, Abdelssalam El Bakouri, in addition to the parliamentary advisor and president of the Regional Chamber of Agriculture, Habib Bentaleb, whose membership was frozen by the party.
The same sources stressed that the search for restoring the party's strength in the Marrakech-Safi region, which collapsed in the face of the increasing presence of the National Rally of Independents party, starts with summoning the aforementioned leaders, canceling the previous decisions taken against them, achieving comprehensive "reconciliation," and bringing back the disgruntled members.
Identical statements in this regard indicated that some deputies of the president of the Marrakech Communal Council might raise before her the dissatisfaction with the way the council is managed, and the exclusion they are subjected to, whether from the council or from the district councils affiliated with it, not to mention the lack of communication from the president's chief of staff with them and the failure to respond to their multiple demands and calls.
Anger began among the elected officials, especially the presidents of communal councils, against the party's leadership from its stronghold in the Rehamna province, where presidents rose up during the provincial council session held last Monday.
Prominent rural commune presidents in the Rehamna province came out to express their dissatisfaction with the failure of the president of the Marrakech-Safi Regional Council, Samir Goudar, to interact with their demands, rejecting his negligence in implementing the projects expected by the population, such as water and roads.
