The Marrakech-Safi Regional Multiservices Company, whose main mission is the management of drinking water, electricity, and liquid sanitation services, was officially launched on Friday in Marrakech.
The company's area of intervention includes the prefecture of Marrakech and the provinces of Chichaoua, Al Haouz, Kelaa des Sraghna, Essaouira, Rehamna, Safi, and Youssoufia.
The company, whose launch ceremony was presided over by the Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region and Governor of the prefecture of Marrakech, Farid Chourak, replaces the previous distributors, namely RADEEMA in Marrakech, RADEES in Safi, and the National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water.
This initiative, carried out in the Marrakech-Safi region and similar to other regions of the Kingdom, aims to unify the relationship with customers, simplify procedures, improve the quality of services, and bring them closer to citizens in order to effectively meet their expectations and contribute to improving the business climate. For its Director General, Iqbal Toumi, the launch of the SRM-MS is an “important and exceptional moment,” specifying that it is part of the implementation of Law 83-21 relating to regional multiservices companies. He added that this occasion is an opportunity to inform the various officials and stakeholders of the content of the management contract, which has a duration of 30 years, noting that the company serves 251 territorial collectivities comprising nearly 4.9 million inhabitants.
The company was founded with a capital of 100 million dirhams, distributed between the State (25%), the group of territorial distribution collectivities (40%), the National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water (25%), and the Regional Council (10%).
