These two workshops, organised on the initiative of the Regional Academy of Education and Training of Laayoune Sakia El Hamra, are part of the implementation of the partnership agreement and the joint action programme between the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports.
The training workshop on "Eco-Schools", which benefited primary and pre-school pupils, provided an opportunity to highlight the theoretical and conceptual dimension of this programme, as well as practical approaches to engaging in it.
This workshop was also an opportunity to train regional and provincial coordinators to support the implementation of the aforementioned programme in the educational institutions of the region.
In this edition, the Foundation focused on educational innovation by introducing interactive activities suitable for each age group of participants, as well as presenting the new educational tools developed by the Foundation.
The second workshop on "Young Reporters for the Environment" provided an opportunity to introduce participants to the techniques of writing and producing photographic and video reports on an environmental issue at the local level.
These two workshops also served as an occasion to exchange updates on the two programmes, particularly regarding the integration of artificial intelligence and the strengthening of the twinning project at the international level, as well as the addition of a range of topics including sports, cultural heritage, biodiversity conservation, and ocean-related topics to expand the scope of the programmes and target key aspects of Education for Sustainable Development.
It should be noted that the 2024-2025 edition of the environmental education and sustainable development programmes, "Eco-Schools" and "Young Reporters for the Environment", aims to highlight innovation, motivation, and the exchange of experiences, thereby creating a conducive framework for constructive exchange among all stakeholders.
