According to the data presented this Monday during the meeting of the Regional Committee for Human Development, chaired by the Wali of the region, Mr. Abdeslam Bekrate, these projects are distributed according to the programs of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) into 21 projects within the framework of the program to bridge the deficit in infrastructure and basic social services in less equipped areas, 50 projects regarding the program to support people in vulnerable situations, 58 projects for the program to improve income and economic inclusion of youth, and 38 projects within the program related to promoting human development for future generations.
The results of the regional human development action plan for the year 2024 at the level of the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region indicate that these projects were distributed by province into 73 projects in Boujdour province, which the Initiative contributed to completing at a financial cost estimated at 7.71 million dirhams, 49 projects in Es-Semara province, which the Initiative contributed to completing with a financial envelope of 7.32 million dirhams, and 32 projects in Tarfaya province, where the contribution of the National Initiative for Human Development to their completion reached a financial allocation of 7.77 million dirhams, while the number of projects in Laayoune province, which the Initiative contributed to completing with approximately 7.61 million dirhams, reached about 13 projects.
The projects of the first program, which concerns bridging the deficit in infrastructure and basic social services in less equipped areas, which have been completed or are under construction, include the sectors of roads (7 projects), connection to the electricity network (7 projects), and connection to the drinking water network (7 projects).
As for the projects of the program to support people in vulnerable situations, they are distributed according to intervention axes into 6 projects in the child and youth protection axis (649 beneficiaries), 21 projects in the socio-economic integration axis (1,252 beneficiaries), and 23 projects in the axis of assisting the elderly, the sick, and people with special needs (1,683 beneficiaries).
Regarding the projects of the program to improve income and economic inclusion of youth (58 projects), which are distributed into 31 projects in Boujdour province, 23 projects in Es-Semara province, and 04 projects in Tarfaya province, they concern 16 projects for the entrepreneurship support axis and 36 projects for the social and solidarity economy support axis.
Regarding the projects of the program to promote human development for future generations, which are estimated at 38 projects, they are distributed according to intervention axes into 9 projects for the mother and child support axis (3,610 beneficiaries) and 29 projects for the axis of supporting schooling and openness among youth (12,026 beneficiaries).
This meeting, which was attended by the President of the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region, Sidi Hamdi Ould Errachid, the Governor of Tarfaya province, Mr. Mohamed Hamim, the Governor of Boujdour province, Ibrahim Benbrahim, the Secretary-General of the Es-Semara province prefecture, Mohamed Naji, and members of the Regional Committee of the National Initiative for Human Development, was marked by the presentation of a detailed presentation on the physical and financial progress of the projects included in the 2024 Regional Human Development Action Plan, and a video clip on the most important achievements of the National Initiative for Human Development in the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region during 2024.
